The Hack

Deep vacuuming involves more than just covering the floor. You will need to carefully vacuum every square inch not only of your floors and areas underneath furniture (including beds and couches) but also the furniture itself, e.g. all sides of each couch cushion as well as the couch under the cushions, backs, arms, etc.

This is effective because physically removes adults, eggs, larva, and pupa. The movement, noise, and rhythmic thumping (if you are using a roller vacuum) can cause any pupa which aren't sucked up to hatch.

Ideally this would be repeated daily until the infestation is gone!Edited Apr 27 • Discussion

Limitations

Most people will not vacuum as thoroughly as they should since it's very inconvenient to move furniture such as beds to get underneath them.

There are also a lot of things that can't be effectively vacuumed, such as bedding, mattresses, box springs, laundry, and other items.Edited Apr 27 • Discussion

Goes well with

When combined with Washing Clothes and Bedding, this can be extremely effective. Clothing (especially bedding) are the main weak spots for vacuuming, and washing all bedding and laundry daily will physically remove most fleas (in every life cycle) from the most active areas of the home.Edited Apr 27 • Discussion
